Cracking day out at the 3 Tuns brewery yesterday. The bus trip took us to Bishop’s Castle via roads I knew very well as they’re the route I pedalled to Tywyn last September. Only we got there a tad quicker!
Here’s the brewery.
And here’s the Pub attached to it.
The beer was very good, XXX being my favourite, although they do a cracking pint of Mild, which is getting a bit of a rarity these days.
They only use 4 ingredients in their brewing process, that of Grain, Hops, Yeast and Water. No additives, no chemicals. Which means there’s very little ill effects the next day. I’m feeling a bit wooly headed but no bad stomach or banging head that mass produced industrial beers give you.
After we drank all the free beer on offer we said our thank yous and goodbyes to the nice people there and started the journey home where we stopped off at The Kings Arms at Cleobury Mortimer to try some ale from the Hobsons brewery their brew called Twisted Spire was generally considered to be the nicest.
Obviously we ended up at the Dodford Inn where Richard the Gaffer tried to remove some more of our money off us by selling us more ale.
A great day, one that I wouldn’t want to do too often though!
Back to the normal commute tomorrow. It’s looking like shorts weather!
