Men against boys.

Well done Ireland. A classic example that youth and enthusiasm are absolutely no substitute for age and experience. England were well beaten all ends up in every department and as I said after England’s demolition of Italy, talk of Grand Slams and Rugby World Cups were total stupidity on the part of the English rugby press who really should have known better.

There’s no point in analysing the game to death. The plain and simple fact was that in every area, and man to man Ireland were better than England.

So again, very well done Ireland, deserved winners.

The fact that England are 6 Nations Champions will be absolutely no consolation to them. They came to Dublin to win and claim a rare Grand Slam and they failed miserably. The coaching staff’s job is now to deal with the disappointment and the mental scars and prepare the team for the World Cup in New Zealand in the autumn.

But I’m now looking forward to next year’s 6 Nation’s Tournament!
